To secure your Netgear router and home network, change the default admin password, enable WPA3 encryption, set up a guest network, disable remote management, and keep your router’s firmware updated. Additionally, consider using features like parental controls and VPN support for added security.

Most Netgear routers have an automatic firmware update feature. However, you can also check for updates manually by logging into your router’s admin panel, navigating to the firmware update section, and following the on-screen instructions. Alternatively, use the Nighthawk or Orbi app to update the firmware.
